Everything you want and need to
know about our notebooks....

In my class, we learn history through examining documents,
photographs, videos, music, taking notes, participating in debates,
in-class projects, etc.  Due to this, we CREATE our own
textbooks to use for the year!

•        Each student will need two notebooks for the duration of the school
year.  (One notebook per semester.)

•        Each student is responsible for completing and maintaining his or
her notebooks from September through June.

•        The cover should be decorated with visuals about your child and his
or her name must appear clearly.

•        Notebook pages must be numbered FRONT and BACK from 1-200 (a
100 page notebook numbered on both sides).

•        The notebook is the TEXTBOOK for my class.

•        All worksheets that are completed in class are labeled with a page
number. It is the student's responsibility to attach these pages to the
corresponding numbered page in his or her notebook the day they are
distributed.

•        Pages that are NOT attached do NOT receive credit.

•        Tests and projects are completed through these notebook pages.

•        Please make sure that pages are attached every night. Students are
given glue and time at the end of every class to attach the pages from
that day.

•        Notebooks are graded every one to two weeks and count as 30% of
each report card grade. Notebook checks will be both announced and
unannounced.

•        Failure to maintain a neat, completed, and organized notebook can
result in failure of my class.
